Amish vegetables

We greatly enjoy fresh vegetables grown in the nearby Amish community in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. Recently, a friend went there and brought back some tasty tomatoes and corn for us. If you have never visited an Amish community, you are missing a really pleasant and educational time. The Amish are reared speaking Pennsylvania Dutch, for which there is no book or other learning course. It is a German-based language. Around the age of six, Amish children begin to learn English. Amish food is hand-farmed and often sold at markets such as the one in Lawrenceburg. We will really enjoy preparing and eating these fine vegetables. Have you ever visited an Amish community?
