Being a proponent for healthy living, I have really grasped this concept since my disability. When your back hurts, you truly hurt all over, as many of you likely will agree. Some tips that help me are:
Walking daily. When it rains, as is common here in the South, I have a course charted inside. As long as walking is happening, it doesn’t really matter if it’s indoors or outdoors, right?
Plenty of sleep. This is oh so important. For many years, I slept sitting up or on the couch. Bad choices. A good bed with a good mattress is a must. Just as important is getting at least 8 hours per day of interrupted, peaceful calm sleep.
Eating healthier foods We all love sweets and such, but trying to limit our eating of foods that are high in sugars, calories and such will definitely help. Fruits and vegetables are much healthier foods.
Following the health care professional’s advice. Don’t begin any type of activity without consulting him or her first. If your regime includes medications, be sure to take them correctly. Don’t be afraid to ask questions of your health care provider.
What are some helpful tips that you may list/suggest?
